(PROHIBITION OF DRIVING)
TEMPORARY ORDER 2020
To allow footbridge replacement works to be carried out at a railway station, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Station Road, Westgate-on-Sea, near Margate.
Closures are currently planned as follows
• Friday 15 May 2020 from 08:00 hours continuing through to 17 May 2020 at 06:00 hours for installation of new bridge
• Friday 29 May 2020 from 20:00 hours continuing through to 2 June 2020 at 06:00 hours for removal of old footbridge
Station Road will be closed between the junctions with St. Mildred’s Road and Ethelbert Square, with no through access.
The alternative routes are
Eastbound via St. Mildred’s Road, Westgate Bay Avenue and Ethelbert Square
Westbound via Roxburgh Road, Westgate Bay Avenue and St. Mildred’s Road.
Due to the nature of the works, the restrictions will need to remain in force at all times.
There is a chance that the planned dates may change, and updated information can be found on one.network – [Network Rail Permit KL810VIR-72-35-150520 & KL810VIR-72-35-290520], with any changes signposted on site and notified locally.
