To allow works to be carried out to a new fibre connection, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit the use of the turning points in the central reservation on the A28 Canterbury Road, Westgate-on-Sea, between the junction of St James Park Road and Grove Road from 6th September to 9th September 2021.

The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on One.Network These restrictions will be in conjunction with a contra-flow system on the A28 Canterbury Road between the junctions of Briary Close and The Grove.

As part of these works, Quex Road will be closed at it’s junction with A28 Canterbury Road to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The one-way traffic order in respect of Quex Road will be suspended to allow access/exit from either direction up to where the road is closed.

This order is required for the safety of the public and workforce while new fibre connection works are undertaken by Openreach.

The alternative route for any right turns is via Victoria Road and Streete Court Road.

Restrictions will remain in place between the hours of 19.00 and 05.00 only.

For information regarding this closure please contact Openreach, who will be
able to assist with the scope of these works.
