Volunteer drivers needed
Westgate-on-Sea Town Council
Kent coast volunteering runs the community transport service in Thanet and has a team of volunteers who use their own cars and freely give up their time to take elderly and disabled people to appointments, mainly medical at the moment but also to day centres, shopping, clubs, hairdressers etc if possible.
As the NHS is now opening up again and trying its best to clear the backlog build up during the pandemic more and more people are asking to join the service, prior to the pandemic KCV had 113 active drivers, today they have 68, which makes the service increasingly difficult to manage.
KCV are always trying to recruit more drivers as the transport service, along with all the others in the UK, plays an important role in social care by allowing members to maintain their independence for longer by being able to get to where they need or want to go.
If you are interested in being a volunteer driver, please contact KCV on 01304 380 513 or [email protected]
