Donna Carr
Donna Carr has lived in Westgate-on-Sea for the past 10 years and is proud to serve the town as a co-opted member of Westgate-on-Sea Town Council. She brings more than 25 years of senior leadership experience across local government, national public bodies and the NHS, with a strong track record in public health and delivering complex programmes that make a tangible difference to communities.
Donna will shortly be leaving the NHS to begin a new chapter, having most recently worked at senior level across Kent and Medway on tackling inequalities and improving population health. Throughout her career, she has advised national policymakers, managed multi-million-pound budgets and helped organisations embed transparent, inclusive decision-making.
Her commitment to the local community extends beyond Westgate. Donna is a Trustee of the Powell-Cotton Trust, which oversees the Powell-Cotton Museum, Quex House and Gardens – one of East Kent’s most important cultural and heritage institutions. She previously served for two and a half years (2017–2020) as a Trustee of POW Thanet, supporting the Power of Women festival and championing creativity and female leadership across the district.
Energetic, thoughtful and community-minded, Donna is passionate about open local government, strong civic life and ensuring Westgate continues to thrive as a welcoming, distinctive seaside town.
