Road Closure for Hengist Road

Please note – The below works have been extended with estimated completion by 13th November 2026.

Southern Water - Temporary Road Closure - Hengist Road, Westgate On Sea - 2nd November 2026 (Thanet District)

Due to works planned to be undertaken by Southern Water, it will be necessary to close part of Hengist Road, Westgate On Sea, from 2nd November 2026 with estimated completion by 6th November 2026.

Hengist Road, Westgate On Sea, will be closed from outside number 1 to number 4 Springfield Mews, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Hengist Road, Ryders Avenue, Cuthbert Road, St Mildreds Road, A28 Canterbury Road, A28 The Square, A28 Canterbury Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while allowing water works to be carried out, works are undertaken by Southern Water.
