(PROHIBITION OF DRIVING)
TEMPORARY ORDER 2021
To allow highway and footway improvements to be carried out to improve road safety, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of A28 Canterbury Road, Westbrook, Margate.
Overnight closures are planned from Thursday 25 February 2021 for up to 2 nights, between 19:00 hours through until approximately 05:00 hours each night.
A28 CANTERBURY ROAD will be closed in the general vicinity of the junction with Westbrook Avenue, to the actual extent shown on site.
The alternative routes for all through traffic are
Eastbound via B2052 George V Avenue, Hartsdown Road, Tivoli Road, Beatrice Road, College Road, A255 St Peter’s Road, A254 Ramsgate Road, Queens Avenue, Eaton Road, Belgrave Road and Marine Terrace back to A28 Canterbury Road.
Westbound via A28 Canterbury Road, Marine Terrace, A255 Belgrave Road, Eaton Road, Grosvenor Gardens, High Street, St Peter’s Road, B2052 College Road, Hartsdown Road and George V Avenue
WESTBROOK AVENUE will be closed at its junction with A28 Canterbury Road and can be accessed via A28 Canterbury Road and Bridge Road.
The planned dates and duration may change for various reasons including adverse weather conditions and the current coronavirus situation.
